Continued Adjustments due to Finger

Today we continued our workouts but made adjustments due to my finger injury.  For anyone wondering if I feel it during the workout the answer is – yes.   Even though I feel it the pain is not so much that I am not able to focus on the work at hand.  I have played in games with far worse pain than what I am experiencing with this finger.  For the most part it is just annoying but we have to work around it.  All too often people “shut it down” when they are faced with injuries and that is a shame because trained professionals such as Jovick have education and experience in the field to help navigate around an injury and to keep an athlete moving forward and up in their performance training.

Change of Plans

Just like in athletics - injuries happen in everyday life.  Saturday night I was coming out of my side garage door with a bag of charcoal in my left arm to grill.  As I was about to shut the door a gust of wind came and slammed the door shut on my right middle finger.  24 hours later it was about triple the size and full of blood.  After letting my kid brother (who is a trained professional) try and drain the finger we ended up at the emergency room.  The Dr. used a tool and heated it and burned through the middle of my finger nail.  Once he made it through the finger drained and that was a relief of PRESSURE and PAIN.

Like they say in the circus...the show must go on!
