Athletes and making Mistakes

In this BLOG my focus is to help parents, coaches, and athletes understand the hard work to takes off the field to be the very best on the field.  90% of this BLOG is focused on getting the athletes body to work like a well oiled machine (let's say a corvette since that is my favorite car).

Every now and again I like to throw in different topics that also aid in shaping great athletes.  I found this clip on-line from Doc Rivers discussing mistakes and our athletes.  He shares some great thoughts and perspective for all of us to keep in mind when dealing with athletes.  Mistakes are inevitable but GREAT coaches (or parents and teammates) help pinpoint with the athlete where the lack in focus came from to learn from the mistake.  All too often we see examples of coaches, fans, parents, and teammates coming unglued at youth sporting events because of a mistake that has been made.  One thing to keep in mind - they do not make the mistake on purpose and it is inevitable that they will make more mistakes in the future.
